Installation and Configuration - Compare Product Enhancement

The Compare product enhancement plugin depends on the NopAdvance Core plugin. Make sure the core plugin is installed first, as the product tag plugin will not function without it.

Once the plugin has been installed, you will see the plugin menu under NopAdvance > Plugins > compare product enhancement in your nopCommerce admin menu, similar as displayed in the below image.

To enable the plugin from the admin panel - Admin panel > plugins > compare product enhancement > configure. There will be following options on the configure page, displayed in the image below: 

Settings at a glance

Enabled:

• Check to enable the Compare product enhancement plugin. 

Comparison rule: 

Admin can set the comparison rules to set on the same category or set based on the matching specification attribute threshold, as displayed in the image below:

From the same category: Only allows comparison for products in the same category. 

Matching specification attributes: Allows comparison only between products with matching specification attributes.

Match threshold: 

Sets the minimum percentage of matching specification attributes required. Set this threshold value between 10 - 100.

For example, if it's set to 70% then products with 70% matching specification attributes are only eligible for comparison.

Hide common features:

Check this option to hide specification attributes with the common attribute values across all compared products in the comparison results.

This means that if multiple products being compared share the same specification attribute with common values, that attribute will be hidden to avoid redundancy and make the comparison more focused.

No. of products: 

Out of box, the nopCommerce allows customers to compare up to 4 products only at a time while using the product comparison feature.

However, the store owners can modify this limit and allow customers to compare more than 4 products using the "Number of products" setting available in the plugin configuration.

Additional notes

• If you try to add a product which is not eligible for comparison, then a confirmed pop-up displayed If confirmed, system clear the list and add the product.
• Matching is based on the first product in the comparison list.
