1. What is the Automobile Fitment Search Plugin?

The Automobile Fitment Search Plugin is a nopCommerce extension that helps customers find compatible vehicle parts based on specific attributes like Make, Model, and Year. It ensures only relevant products appear for the selected vehicle.

2. Which nopCommerce versions does this plugin support?

This plugin is compatible with nopCommerce 4.7, 4.80, and above.

3. Where can customers access the fitment search on the website?

Once enabled, the “Click to select your vehicle” link appears in the store header, allowing customers to search from any page - including Homepage, Category pages, Manufacturer pages, and Product Detail Pages (PDP).

4. What happens when the “Automatically ask customer to select vehicle” option is enabled?

When this option is turned on, customers will see a “Choose your vehicle” popup automatically when visiting the store. They must select their vehicle before browsing, ensuring only compatible products are displayed.

5. What is the difference between “Automatically ask customer to select vehicle” and “Only ask for the first time”?

  • Automatically ask customer to select vehicle: Displays the popup on every page until the customer selects their vehicle.
  • Only ask for the first time: Prompts customers to select their vehicle only during their first visit. The selection is remembered for future sessions.

6. What does enabling “Show fitment details on PDP” do?

This option displays the selected vehicle’s fitment details directly on the Product Details Page, helping customers confirm that the part fits their vehicle before purchase.

7. What are Fitment Attributes?

Fitment Attributes define vehicle-specific criteria such as Make, Model, and Year. These attributes determine how the vehicle search filter functions on the storefront.

8. Can I add custom Fitment Attributes?

Yes. Store administrators can add new attributes such as Engine Type, Fuel Type, or Variant from the Admin Panel → NopAdvance → Automobile Fitment Search → Fitment Attributes section.

9. How do I add values for a Fitment Attribute?

You can add values (e.g., Toyota, Ford for “Make” or 2021, 2022 for “Year”) from the Values section on the Edit Fitment Attribute Details page. Each value can also be imported or exported via Excel/CSV.

10. What are Fitment Attribute Combinations?

Fitment Attribute Combinations define specific vehicle configurations — for example, Toyota Corolla 2018. Each combination can be linked to one or more products to ensure compatibility.

11. How do I link products to a Fitment Combination?

Go to the Fitment Attribute Combinations section, select or create a combination, and use the “Add a new product” option to assign compatible products.

12. Can I import and export fitment data?

Yes. You can use the Import and Export buttons available under both the Fitment Attributes and Fitment Combinations sections to manage large sets of data easily.

13. Why is the “Click to select your vehicle” link not visible on the store?

Ensure that:

  • The plugin is enabled in the configuration settings.
  • Fitment Attributes and Fitment Combinations are properly configured and published.
